Bailliage de Kuala Lumpur
  Membership

Membership of the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs is by invitation only. Most new members join through recommendation by friends who are already members, but it is also possible to obtain information directly through our national Chapters (or Bailliages as they are referred to within the Chaîne). In the national Bailliage (usually refers to country) section of our website you will be able to find the office and name of the Bailli Délégué, the person to contact in your country. While most Chapters welcome new members, some have waiting lists. Chaîne membership offers great opportunities to meet people who share a common interest in fine dining and good friendship. Members are also made to feel especially welcome when patronizing Chaîne member establishments such as hotels and restaurants.

There are two types of Chaîne membership:

  • Professional Member: is classified as a member who owns or works in either a hotel or restaurant, such as a Hotel Owner, Hotel Director, General Manager or a Chef.
  • Non-Professional Member: is classified as an amateur member who does not own or work in a hotel or restaurant. All other professions and business sectors fall into this member category.

Once the Siège Mondial receives the membership application form, a 'nomination' for induction is sent to the member along with a membership card, which entitles the new member to attend any events locally or internationally as well as the opportunity for a vote at the Annual General Meeting. At the induction ceremony, the new member is formally received into the Society and receives the appropriate coloured ribbon and diploma.

Both Professional and Non-Professional members have the chance to meet at Chaîne events locally, nationally and internationally and we strongly encourage our non-professional members to discover and visit member establishments.

All Chapters offer fine dining events, often black tie, in the best local restaurants and hotels. The menus and dishes are created exclusively for these dinners by the chefs, many of whom are also members of the "Confrérie". This interaction between our professional and amateur members distinguishes the Chaîne from other organisations. The activities of the Chaîne are not limited to grand dining. "Diners Amicaux", which are less formal meals such as picnics and barbecues, are part of many chapters' schedule. Members may also attend events in other countries. Check the Calendar section of our website for a listing of forthcoming Grand Chapitres and Chapitres events.

"Grand Chapitres", events when members are inducted, are three days social and educational events that culminate in the induction of new members. Chapitres are similar events but are less than three days in duration, and new members are also inducted during these events. Our Baillis Délégués and their teams put a great deal of time and energy into organising these Grand Chapitres and Chapitres, major Chaîne celebrations which provide members with the ideal opportunity to visit other Bailliages (countries), to meet new people and fellow Confrères as well as get inducted.
